There was a huuuuge breakthrough in the world of fusion energy in 2022 but a lot of people missed it. The breakthrough was 100 years in the making. That might be the coolest thing that happened in the world of science last year but most people don’t properly understand just how big of a deal it was. The concept of fusion energy being harnessed in a lab setting has been kicked around for quite a while now but no one knew quite when we’d crack it. The applications for this energy are truly endless. It might just reshape the world as we know it.

Fusion energy is essentially the process that powers stars like the very own sun of the Milky Way galaxy. The process is renewable, powerful, and completely clean. It seems far too great of a thing to actually be real but it could be a very real thing soon enough.

This could be used for electricity, cars, space travel, and so much more. Not only that but it is a very green process that would produce no harmful effects on the environment. It might actually make global warming into a fight that could be won!

It could provide some dangers though. While some think that it might cause a meltdown or some kind of black hole event, it’s much more likely that it would be used in a weapon of some kind. It would make nuclear weapons much more effecient which is pretty terrifying.
