Despite being less than 40 miles from the front lines of Israel’s war with Hamas fighters in Gaza, Ben Gurion Airport remains open. Even though civil airspaces above war zones like Ukraine often remain closed during fighting, Israel’s civil airspace continues to receive commercial air traffic.
